Deets: On Earth Day, April 22, 2015, Waterkeeper Alliance hosted “Keep it Clean,” a star-studded evening of comedy which featured special performances by Martin Short, Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Nealon, Tig Notaro, Robert Klein and more at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. In addition to live stand-up, “Keep it Clean” featured a keynote address by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., president of Waterkeeper Alliance, appearances by celebrity friends, and a first look at the “Keep it Clean” video campaign, a series of digital shorts from celebrity friends and comedians directed by actress Rachael Harris. Guests also had the opportunity to check out the Toyota Mirai, the official vehicle of “Keep it Clean.” With pure water as its only emission, the Toyota Mirai uses hydrogen and oxygen to create electricity to power the all-electric engine.
Proceeds from the benefit helped advanced the fight for clean water, led by Waterkeeper Alliance. This global movement unites more than 252 Waterkeeper organizations around the world (including Los Angeles Waterkeeper!) to patrol and protect more than 252 local waterways from pollution and focus citizen advocacy on issues from pollution to climate change.
