Deets: The 2015 show will premiere live from Austin, Texas during the SXSW Music Festival on Friday, March 20, 2015, and is bringing yet another incredible batch of on-stage acts and top-notch presenters.
Besides getting to see some seriously sick performances, the best part about the Woodies is when your favorite musicians take home a much-deserved award, right? To be 100% certain that happens, make sure to head on over to the voting page to cast your digital ballot for the artists you think should go home with a coveted Woodie award. From deciding who had the coolest video of the year to naming the best college radio station in the country, only you can decide who takes home top honors.
Although there's still a ways to go before the Woodies completely takes over your life (which they totally will, so just prepare yourself), there's plenty of time to reminisce about everything that went down at the 2014 Woodie Awards. Last year's show all started with the Woodies Festival, an afternoon of non-stop live musicthat amped the crowd for the night ahead. Between all of the exclusive interviews and electric performances, fans couldn't get enough. Later on, Lil Wayne opened the Woodies and got the audience hyped for some 'huge mother****in' artists,' which included a delicious performance of 'Chocolate' by swoon-worthy Brit band The 1975, and a short-shorts, confetti and balloon-filled appearance from Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX, when they performed the undisputed song of the summer, 'Fancy.'
2011 Woodie Of The Year winner Wiz Khalifa rolled up to the stage to pass the coveted 'Woodie Of The Year' torch along to Drake by way of Lil Wayne, who could not have been more proud of his protege. To close out the Woodies in style, comedian Hannibal Burress introduced none other than 2011 Woodies host Childish Gambino, who came out of the crowd literally glowing, and shut down the award show with a killer performance.
The sun may have set on the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards, but look on the bright side y'all - there's only a few short months until the 2015 show!
