Deets: Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 87th Annual Academy Awards and opened the show with a musical number. Birdman took home the Best Picture and Best Director awards, while Eddie Redmayne took home the Best Actor in a Leading Role for Theory of Everything. Julianne Moore scored her first Academy Award for her role in Still Alice, and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) won the Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role. After performing "Glory", Common and John Legend won the Best Original Song for Selma

The night was filled with heartfelt acceptance speeches from the newly awarded Oscars winners and incredible musical performances by Jennifer Hudson ("I Can't Let Go"), Maroon 5, The Lonely Island ("Everything is Awesome"), Tim McGraw ("I'm Not Gonna Miss You"), Rita Ora ("Grateful"), and Lady Gaga (Sound of Music Tribute).
