In addition to film screenings, Sunscreen Film Festival also offers attendees the opportunity to work on their own craft by participating in educational workshops. The Festival offers three full days of professional workshops taught by film industry experts – actors, producers, filmmakers and film professors. This year’s experts include Curt Mega from Glee and Matthew Moy from 2 Broke Girls.
The Festival also features evening parties and events, including a celebrity meet and greet, an Opening Night party, VIP events and more.
“Over the past ten years, we have seen the Sunscreen Film Festival grow from 600 attendees to an internationally-recognized event with an annual attendance of over 20,000,” said Dwight Cenac, Sunscreen Film Festival Director. “We could not have reached this milestone without the support received from our volunteers, filmmakers and the City of St. Petersburg and, together, we look forward to making the 2015 festival the best yet.”
The Sunscreen Film Festival was one of twenty-three film festivals in the country to be sponsored by The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for 2013-2014.
