Deets: On Saturday, February 21, children battling cancer made their debuts on the runway in the 12th annual AGW Capital Advisors Fashion Funds the Cure presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, Mercedes-Benz, and Bright House Networks. Modeling the latest spring styles, the girls – and for the first time, boys – were escorted down the runway by celebrities including players and former players from MLB, the NHL and NFL. 

The Pediatric Cancer Foundation welcomed back Emmy-winning television star, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer, Carson Kressley, and local personality Heather Van Nest as the evening’s celebrity hosts. 

Guests enjoyed fine drinks (provided by Constellation Brands, Kahwa Coffee, Southern Wine and Spirits, Ultra Pure Bottled Water, Inc., Onli Beverages and Pepin Distributing); delicacies from top area restaurants (including Ava, Aqua, Besito Mexican, Carmel Kitchen and Wine Bar, Catering by the Family, Cena, Chic Sweets, iPop Gourmet Popcorn, Irish 31, Seasons 52, Timpano Italian Chophouse and Toffee to Go); and an exclusive fashion show. On January 18, 2015, in preparation for Fashion Funds the Cure, the featured models and their mothers experienced the ultimate day of pampering full of relaxation and time away from the rigorous treatments and hospital visits. 

Fashion Funds the Cure is a fashion show unlike any other. It is an inspirational and entertaining evening as children battling cancer make their debut on the runway escorted by celebrities including players from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Rays. In 12 years since the Pediatric Cancer Foundation asked cancer patients to be in the fashion show, $3.65 million has been raised for clinical trials and research, including $450,000 from the 2014 Fashion Funds the Cure Show.
