Deets: After a successful pop-up run in 2019, Museum of Selfies is opened its doors permanently on Hollywood Boulevard to share the history and cultural phenomenon of the selfie. With interactive exhibits that will allow for picture perfect photos to be captured such as the “bathroom selfie,” “Hollywood selfie,” and more, Museum of Selfies is an Instagrammer’s paradise.
Museum-goers will find themselves surrounded by photo opportunities, snapping several selfies throughout the exhibits such as the infamous “bathroom selfie,” in a two-sided illusion room lacking an actual mirror; the “Hollywood selfie,” where individuals can experience what it’s like to be a star at the Selfie Oscar ceremony, and so much more. Additionally, the museum will feature works from several different artists including first-in-the-world 3D wings by renowned Angel Wings artist Colette Miller and an amazing optical illusion room from visual artist Darel Carey, who’s best known for his abstract line drawings and optical tape installations. After experiencing all the museum has to offer, guests will leave with great photos and an even better understanding of the selfie and it’s meaning.
About Museum of Selfies
Museum of Selfies is an interactive museum that explores the history and cultural phenomenon of the selfie and its roots dating back 40,000 years. Visitors can explore the origin of the selfie through the lens of art, history, technology and culture while taking some cool selfies of their very own with the museum’s interactive installations.
About the Founders
Museum of Selfies was created by Tair Mamedov and Tommy Honton. Tair Mamedov is a notable stand-up comedian, writer, director and game designer who has worked in Russian film and television and escape rooms in Los Angeles. Tommy Honton is a writer, game designer and narrative experience creator best known for his work in escape rooms and immersive storytelling.

Hours of operation are from 10AM-10PM, Sunday-Thursday, and 10AM-12AM, Friday-Saturday. Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $20 for children (under 4 are free).
